Breast Pump Free with Insurance?

Hello Ladies,
While at my baby registry appointment today, a fellow shopper mentioned to me that I should call my insurance company to see if they will send me a "free breast pump." Has anyone heard of this or had such luck?

Yea mine is covered by my insurance too but I won't get it until closer to my due date .

Yes, I went through Aeroflow and they took care of EVERYTHING, contacted my insurance and all that then gave me a list of the ones I qualify for. I did it pretty early too, before 20 weeks. Depends on your insurance though, some make you wait longer. You'll probably also need a RX from your doctor

Yeah. I've already requested one. Just contact your insurance and they'll give you a list of places that work with them. You'll be able to get one for free. Before you go in, call and ask if you need to supply a doctors order (a prescription of sorts) in order to get one.

Yes.  I have free insurance through the state, (Oregon) and they said I get a free one.  I just have to pick it up from a local location. 😊

I got mine covered through Regence, super easy!! I got the Medela Pump in Style. I just had to fill out and mail a claim form with my babies r us receipt and they sent me a check for the full amount!
Sometimes the insurance will also have companies they work with, so that the company just bills insurance and you don't have the upfront cost.

Yes I got mine through my insurance! Didn't have to pay anything and I got to pick it up the day I left the hospital.

My insurance covered my pump, my dr wrote a prescription for one and I went through the breast feeding shop online for mine, they have options and amazing fast service

Yes. Call your insurance. Mine gave me the option of going through a DME company or buying one and submitting a claim and being reimbursed. Every insurance is a little different but they generally all give you some sort of breast pump benefit. At least for now while the ACA is still in place.
