Are women just super sensitive?

I've just been watching last night's Top Gear, well kind of watching, my oh is and im playing on my phone. Anyway, Matt Le Blanc is trying out some new American super car and and jokes that the people in the design departments have to get different people to try it out including a "fat guy, to make sure the car fits in fat guys", they also have a large guy standing behind him and he kinda gestures towards his big stomach. Anyway it got me thinking God you couldn't joke like that on tv about a woman as women would get seriously upset and I starting thinking men just seem way more chilled and content. Obviously I know "fat" is subjective but I'm just curious as to what others think?

I think it depends on the person. However, women are scrutinised more for their weight than men are 🤷‍♀️ so it only makes sense that women would be more sensitive to weight jokes than men.

The fact that most women can't even reject a guy without fearing for the absolute worst (like assault, or even murder) really tells me that women aren't the sensitive ones.

Well we scrutinize and devalue women for being "fat" way more than we scrutinize and devalue men for it. But there are sensitive men, sensitive women, etc.

There's studies that have been done by either Harvard or Princeton that show that men actually have stronger emotions and emotional responses then women however they are more likely to lie/hide their feelings. If anyone wants the links to the studies I'll post it for you 👌

I think men feel the same way… They are just expected to be less sensitive. Which isn't always the case, but many men hide their emotions very well.

It actually really bothers me that people are expected to censor all their comments towards women, but it's always open season on men. If you shouldn't tell a woman she needs a haircut, why would you say that to a man? Why would you tell anyone they look bad and need to fix it? It's just something I've noticed since being married. People will make remarks about my husband's appearance all the time and he's just supposed to take it. You can tell it bothers him sometimes. He went to class after he got a haircut and some kid actually said "wow, you actually look like a respectable human now." Why do people think that's okay to say to ANYONE, regardless of gender???

No. it's just that men aren't allowed to show their emotions (other than anger), so if a man hears an offensive joke, he's supposed to just laugh it off.

Do you read the posts on here? Lmao sensitive doesn't even begin to describe the level for the emotion some women feel. They haven't invited a word for it yet. But when they do, I'm sure it will offend many.

My husband is way more emotional than me and cries at things quite easily. It is rare for me to cry. Everyone is different.
