Is your breast pump covered by insurance? If yes, what insurance do you have? I have Horizon Direct 15. I'll call tomorrow but just wondering if it's usually covered.

From what I understand all insurance companies must cover a new pump or a rental. It does differ on the type and other parameters (like how far you have to be until they deliver one) but everyone who has insurance can get hands on a breast pump.

I have horizon nj direct 15 and breast pumps are covered. I haven't decided on mine yet though.

Yes, I have Blue cross blue shield. I recommend using Aeroflow, I used them and they contacted my insurance company for me, sent me a list of what types they covered and even called my doctor for the prescription. All I had to do was send them an email back stating which one I wanted. My breast pump was on my doorstep within a week with a plethora of extra bottles they sent me because my insurance also covered them.

Mine was covered and I have aetna. I got an electric medela. If I wanted to upgrade to a nicer travel one I could have added my own money.
