Family Pregnancy Announcement Gone Sour

So we broke the news to family first, nothing fancy, just wanted to tell them in person instead of via social media/call/txt. I mean, it's nerve racking enough to tell them premature 12 weeks(esp when my symptoms are come and go). But my brother in laws girlfriend, who doesn't have the sense to think before she speaks, was convinced it was an April Fools joke. So instead of congratulations and jubilation of the announcement of our first child, we had to explain it wasn't a farce followed by awkward silence. . . Fail.
