Mothers who got pregnant young? Careers?

Question

I'm currently a sophomore in college, working towards my BAA in Public Relations and I'm 8 weeks pregnant :) I was just wondering how did you guys manage to create a successful career path while being a mom?

I did not get pregnant young, but want to give you some very good career advice. I am a women who works in the Technology industry.  Before you write me off as uninformed, please hear me out.

Technology is one of the few remaining industries where schooling is not a major barrier to entry for a career.

If you live on the East US coast, we should talk. My company accepts High School interns and even better, we support Women in STEM (science technology engineering and mathematics) who want a chance to see what it's like to work in the industry. If you're in Massachusetts, and this is open to all young mothers who read this post. Please reach out to me and I will be happy to discuss how my company works with high school Women looking to pursue a STEM career.

Know that you have a lot of options. If STEM doesn't interest you, look for the Professional organizations of women in your area of interest. Women in those organizations are often very willing to mentor and allow shadowing opportunities with flexible time for young women in your situation. Remember it never hurts to reach out, be brave, and ask for the opportunity! The worst anyone can say is no :-)

I got pregnant with my first little one when I was 17 (I was married)  but I didn't go to school till later in life. I am a semester away from having my bachelors in christian substance abuse and family counseling.right now I am working at a Christian School teaching art. I will be 31 in July I have three boys (12, 10, 8) with baby number four due in November (yes this one was planned). You just have to find where your calling is and go after it. Just because you are having a baby doesn't mean you have to put your life and career on hold. Will it be harder? Yes! But it will be so much more rewarding! And the life lessons you will be teaching your kids along the way is priceless.

I had my first at 18 and second at 20. I went to school online and worked full time at a daycare.. all as a single mother. I received my bachelors degree when my kids were 3 and 4, got married and then had spontaneous triplets. Because of our triplets I haven't been able to work outside of the home. But I have been making cakes for people on the side. Point is you can do anything you put your mind to 😊
The best road isn't always the easiest. Hang in there 😊

I'm on baby 2 and am starting my internship/practicum at the end of the month. There is a second practicum that I will have to delay until the follow spring/summer As my due date is his fall. However, graduation is rift around he corner for my BSW  (bachelor's of social work) also I'm only 22 so definitely push for it, work your tail off and you'll be Good!

I'm 9 weeks and a sophomore in college! A few days after I found out I had a counseling appointment and talked with my guidance counselor (who had her kids at 16 and 19 and now has a masters) and worked my education plan out so I can get my bachelors, teachers credential, and masters in the next five years while not overloading myself.

I went freelance in film production and commercials after having my daughter and now 6 years on I have a great career mainly down to a brilliant support network. I'm 9 weeks pregnant with my second and now worried that I'm gonna kill my career (and all that hard work) when it becomes impossible to get someone to manage two kids for me when filming :(
