what would you do?

Bo
A little off topic but very upset. We took in an 80lb American bulldog about a year and a half ago before we planned on having more children. She was very aggressive towards any other animals and training did not help. Good with our older children but uncomfortable with younger children (our nieces and nephews.) Three weeks ago, we made a tough decision to find a new home for her. It seemed to be a perfect fit, the lady was a friend of an acquaintance with much older children and loves bulldogs and would let us visit and keep in contact. Obviously, we have her our dog free with her, food, everything etc. I get a call yesterday that she put the dog to sleep bc it all of the sudden needed a blood transfusion!?!?!?! And she couldn't afford one, didn't even call me to ask if I could help, didn't give me a choice. So so so sad. Something seems not right. The dog was Utd on all shots and had clearly reviewed all previous vet records with no indication of any issues and was completely fine three weeks ago!!!! Please hold any negative comments about giving the dog to another family, it was hard enough. It didn't want to take a chance. Does this sound odd to anyone else?
