When is the next holiday / celebration?

Salaam ladies!!

I am so confused.... with Easter coming up etc it got me thinking.... when is the next holiday / celebration in the Islamic calendar? And how do you celebrate it / gifts / food etc?

The only one I'm aware of is eid after Ramadan but I've no clue what happens. Can anyone help please? TIA xx

Ok so eid is basically seen as "Christmas" except Muslims are celebrating it after a month of spiritual rejuvenation and fasting. 
So on Eid mornings, men of the house leave before sunrise to local masjids or prayer gatherings to pray Eid salah and it is followed by fajr salah. Women are not compelled to go for the eid salaah, however if provision is made for women, then it's perfectly fine.
Once the salah is done, a small fee of money (like loose change) called "Lillah" is paid to the poor. It can be any beggar or extremely poor person living below the bread line. 
Thereafter, it is time to celebrate Eid. 
After Ramadan, the eid you celebrate is called "Eid-ul-fitr".
You return to your home and have breakfast-you can invite over your family or neighbors or in-laws or perhaps you invited elsewhere. Your entire day will just consist of visiting people/being visited.

Remember to pray your regular salaahs during the day, try to not over-indulge as well (you have just come out of a month of fasting)

The second Eid celebrated is after the Day of Hajj. This is known as "Eid-Ul-Adha" meaning sacrifice. So the morning is same as the other eid, but thereafter a sheep or goat or bull needs to be sacrificed within 3 days (if a person has the financial means to purchase an animal) 
An alternative will be to pay that money to someone who will be doing slaughtering in poor 3rd world countries and feeding the poor. 
The meat from the sacrificed animal must be divided into 3 potions-one for you to eat from, one to give to your extended family/friends/neighbors and the last to give to poor people. 
It is advised to not eat anything on the morning of Eid and the first thing you eat should be a piece of your freshly cut and cooked meat. It is not compulsory, however.

Everyone said it! Just sharing my family's tradition with you. Before Eid we buy new clothes. On Eid Morning we all go to the Eid prayer (only men technically have to, but my whole family goes). Usually there are huge crowds of people gathering and selling things where we live. We then go out to breakfast with my family, in-laws and family friends. We all head back to one persons house and exchange gifts (sometimes we'll do a secret gift exchange or a white elephant). At night we go out to dinner or host dinner in the house. It's basically a day of eating and gift giving!
