Increasing milk supply?

I'm in desperate need of some tips to increasing my milk supply!! My son is only 5 weeks old but he is already averaging 5oz every 2-3 hours.. I'm supposed to be going back to work in the next month and I need to be able to pump enough to last at least 8 hours a day, 5 days a weeks.

I would consult your pediatrician at this time too! Breastfed babies will reach a "max ounces" a lot sooner than formula fed. They should be able to provide guidance!

My son is 3.5 months old and takes 3.5 oz every two hours (sometimes he will last 3 hours but that's rare!). My pediatrician said babies will cap out around 5-6 oz a sitting because breastmilk changes calories to meet their need so they don't need more oz to reach their ideal caloric intake.

My advice/experience: 
1) Be careful of fenugreek - it made my son SUPER gassy and caused him to have really bad gas pains. 
2) Drinks lots of water, propel, and/or Gatorade.
3) Lactation cookies! So yummy and may help a little.
4) When back at work pump as often as your little man feeds. It's a pain but I make sure to nurse right before leaving him at my MIL, pump every two hours while gone, and nurse immediately at pick up. When I missed a pump session once though I was still able to keep up with his consumption that day thankfully!

Pump AFTER each nursing session. Hand expression as well as a good quality double pump could be very helpful.

More stimulation, more milk. Supply and demand.

You can also try taking moringa each morning to increase your milk supply, it's very helpful. (My doctor recommended 5 moringa capsules each morning with food, along with 3 capsules Vitanica Lactation Blend 3x per day)

I also used upspring milk flow to help increase my milk supply. And try cluster pumping in the morning. Drink lots of regular water and don’t consume caffeine. And get enough sleep. When you pump hold your LO, it helps to get the hormones flowing just like when you’re nursing. Good luck!!

So my grandmother recommended this when I had my son last year and it really helped. So I used to consume a pod or two or raw garlic as soon as I wake up ( I know sounds bad but it works ) and then immediately drank a glass of warm milk. It apparently helps in natural increase of milk supply. Do give it a try. Good luck
