Pap smear?

Who does your Pap smear? My regular doctor said she does them but was wondering if there's a difference with the regular doctor or the obgyn. Also what do you suggest for someone who is getting their first pap?

My regular dr does or I go to the obgyn if I have questions regarding pregnancy

I went to an ob.  My regular doctor didn't do them.

My family doctor. Unless you have a medical condition that requires a specialist there's no reason to see a gyn. The only time I've ever needed one was for a c section.

My OB does it because I have HPV which makes them abnormal often so if my regular Dr did them I would be sent to the OB anyways. Either one is fine doing it for the most part.

You can get it at your regular doctor or you OB. I always get mine at my OB because it ensures I have regular visits (which are very easy to avoid).

The nurse practitioner or dr does mine at my family dr. They send for the same tests as an ob would.
