Is anyone an Accountant?

Question

Im on my second year as an accounting student & would like some advice, tips, anything basically😂. 
Example questions: Do you enjoy your work? What does the day to day stuff look like? Do you work for a firm or are you public? Is the pay enough for how much you do?

I'm a CPA, I work for a small public accounting firm performing audits of local governments. I do like my job, I think the pay is pretty good, wouldn't mind making more, but I'm paid fairly. You will sit at a desk and stare at computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day, if you go into public accounting it will be more. Day to day I'm looking at bank statements, other support for account balances, invoices and preparing financial statements (that's very condensed, it's tough to explain my job in detail). I would recommend getting you masters and CPA license, it is hard (the test is awful), but in hindsight 100% worth it. I'm happy to answer any specific questions you have. I think it's a good field and I'm happy I went into this career field.

I'm an accountant- work for an automotive supplier. No cpa, just bachelors degree. I picked accounting because it was easy for me- but I do not enjoy it. The pay is decent. I have a good job with a really good work/life balance.

I'm a CPA. I've worked in public and private accounting. Auditing, financial consulting, revenue, general ledger. Etc. The hours are definitely long, but if you put your foot down, the right company will pay you what you are worth. I have about 7 years industry experience and I've grown a bit tired of it to be honest. Just burned out. I have a total of 9 degrees. Bachelors and Masters plus my CPA and I've decided to utilize my knowledge to start my own business. I will also be starting as a Professor of Accounting this fall at a university and I'm hoping to continue practicing as a CPA on the side as I don't want to let my clients go. It's a great field and you can do so much with what you learn throughout the years.

I'm not licensed but I worked for my grandma who owned her own accounting business for 50+ years and I enjoyed it. I like doing data entry and I liked speaking with her clients. My dad is a CPA and I personally think he hates it because he can't seem to keep a job and he demands a lot of money for what he does (which I think he should). It's a decent paying job but also very high stress. I work better under stress so it works for me, however it is a desk job which is why I don't do it professionally. Hope this helps. I feel like I kind of just rambled on.
