Ectopic pregnancy

So about 3 months ago I was incredibly sick constantly always had a bunch of pain in my abdomen knew something was up... needless to say I was admitted to the hospital (my boyfriend knew all of this and he knew I was sick). Before this though my boyfriend was visiting me in ny (we have a long distance relationship) and he had just left to go back home to Colorado... anyway I was admitted to the hospital only for the doctors to run numerous tests to find out what was wrong with me and why I was so sick. They asked if I was pregnant and I said not a chance lol. After running every test under the sun they finally said it seemed as though I had an ectopic pregnancy. Again my boyfriend wasn't around and was really concerned, he wanted to fly back just to be with me. Let me add that I never told him exactly what was wrong with me. I told him they thought it was my appendix and finally told him it was ovarian cysts. I didn't want him knowing because he is in the Army and was getting deployed in a few days (he didn't need the extra stress). My boyfriend still doesn't know as of right now and he is still deployed for 6 more months. Before he left he told me he wants me to have his children and we are basically preparing a future together for when he gets home. My question is this... is the right thing to do to tell him that I was pregnant during that time I was "sick" when he returns home from deployment? I just don't want to open a can of worms that don't need to be open but I still want to be honest with him since we're together for the long haul.
