What do you think about owning snakes or other reptiles?

I would like to know some of your opinions on reptile keeping as a parent.

I keep snakes. I currently have a 1400gram male ball python who is about 3' long. My son is 2 years old and is absolutely ecstatic when I bring the snake out. He loves petting and touching the scales. I also have geckos that he enjoys seeing and touching as well. I believe it is important at a young age for children to develop a relationship with animals. Especially those with a bad stigma.

I would also like to know if there are any other fellow reptile keepers in this community? I know there is a ton of stigma on snakes. But let me reassure you that 80% of it is false, and just out to scare you. I can and would like to answer questions anyone may have!

P.P.S DO NOT POST ABOUT THAT MAN BEING SWALLOWED BY THE RETICULATED PYTHON IN INDONESIA.
