You are having a birthday party in a function room, a friend said they would be there but didn't turn up, would you be mad?

If it was a 40th party for example, would it make a difference to your answer? What if loads of other people were there? If it was just a friend rather than best friend? This came up in conversation, one person said they'd be furious, another said it's expected to happen and it isn't a big deal. Thoughts?

Actually no. I am so used to people not showing up and breaking promises that I no longer care.

I absolutely cannot stand when people RSVP yes and then don't show up without a valid excuse. Esp if it's somewhere that requires a reservation or you pay per person. 14 people did this at my baby shower. It was $280 extra. Just say you don't want to go. That would never hurt my feelings. I like being home on my couch in my PJs too! I totally get it. But don't say yes of what you really mean is no.

If they had a good reason for not staying true to their word then I wouldn't be mad at all. But giving no notice that they were not coming after they said they would and just not show up would make me angry. I always reach out to people if I can't make it last minute or find someone who can do it for me.

If it was like a birthday party and they didn't show up I wouldn't be mad, I'd just hope everything was okay! If it was supposed to me just me and them and they just didn't show up, I'd be annoyed but I'd still be worried!

Nope. I don't really expect people to "turn up" I'm honestly just happy they showed up. What if they're tired? What if they are just shy around new people? Everyone has that one friend that will be glued to their side around family parties, and has a hard time talking to new people with out you. If I'm too busy turning up/mingling and my friend doesn't feel comfortable but still wasn't to support me by staying in not gonna be mad at her.

Now if she was pouting in the corner being a Debby downer then yeah Ima be pissed. U should have just popped up and left if that were the case 🤷🏻‍♀️

People are flaky. Their loss cause 4 ppl or 40 ppl I'M TURNING UP AND HAVING A BLAST. Needless to say, I wouldnt rushing to attend their events
