stage 3 baby food

So my son is about to turn 10 months old and at his 9 month check up the doctor said we can feed him stage 3. We tried giving him stage 3 gerber Mac and cheese the other day and he threw a huge fit and didn't want to eat it. We tried again last night and he did the same thing. I think it was because it was to chunky. What's the best food in stage 3 to introduce to a baby? It doesn't necessarily have to be gerber. Just any stage 3 food while work. I just want to try something for him.
