I hate my husbands family 🙄

When we were dating they the talked badly about me to him, then would turn around and be nice to my face. We ended up breaking up for a few months and when we got back together, they called him to tell him that he "was no longer a part of their family because he didn't ask their permission before getting back together with me" on our wedding day, they didn't say one word to me and later complained to my husband that our wedding wasn't what they wanted. I get respecting his parents, but there is only so much negativity one can take!!! Should I keep trying to please these people? Or can I finally give up and remove them from my life?!
