Jr. Bridesmaid question

I just got engaged a little over a week ago and when my fiancé and I were discussing wedding party we didn't have many options for a flower girl. He mentioned his little cousin who is 14 and I think that's a little too old for a flower girl but I just thought I could ask her to be a jr bridesmaid. My only concern is I've only met her one time, so would it be odd to ask if she would like to? We want a small wedding party. I had originally just wanted a MOH (my best friend since we were 15) and his best man (his brother). But I started thinking that I would like the woman who introduced us to be involved and I think he has one or two other people he would like.
