Counting miscarriages
I'm trying to become a first time mom and it isn't going well. I've had 2 miscarriages in the last 5 months. Both very early on at 6w. The first time ultrasounds said the baby only made it to 6w but we weren't able to confirm loss and have a DNC until what would have been 10w. I finally got a BFP again a few months later but lost the pregnancy naturally the next week, so it would have been 6w again. I've been to a fertility specialist and she basically said that she's happy to run the tests but she doesn't think any answers will come of it and that it's a waste of time for me.
Now I'm 2 weeks late and scared to test because I'm spotting, just a tiny bit, and I figure that if I am pregnant and losing another what's the point in knowing? The Dr doesn't like to see people until they're 8w anyway so I figure I'll wait until I'm that late to test, if I make it that far. Then I don't have weeks and weeks of hopes building up only to have the floor fall out again. I don't know how many more times of that I can handle.
But my question is, does it matter to test and know I'm miscarrying early and keep a count of them or is it just asking for heartbreak? I've already seen the specialist so what's the quantifiable difference between 2 and 3 or 5 or 10?
