My boyfriend yells super loud and starts hitting stuff when we argue. He always tries to turn it around on me even if it was him in that certain situation. Is this healthy/ok/normal?

I'm glad you reached out to Eve and asked, because it's hard to see it when you're in it!
This is the first sign that he could potentially hurt you. 99.9% of time, this kind of behavior stems from something much deeper, like unresolved issues from childhood/his past. 
If you two are serious, I would suggest taking him to a safe place to talk. You need to tell him how you feel and let him know he needs to seek guidance on how to fix this issue, before it gets worse.
Keep in mind it is NOT your fault, and you cannot fix it yourself. This is something he has to work on by himself.
If this is a new relationship, seriously think about whether or not you want to continue dating someone like him.

You are brave, but absolutely do not deserve carry his shame or be blamed for his own burried issues.

My father is emotionally abusive and he does the same thing. That is not acceptable behavior and it'd be a very good thing to talk with him about it. However, talking will almost never solve it. If you have very close mutual friends/his friends/ friends to reach out to in general, that might also be beneficial. I know you probably love your boyfriend, but if the behavior cannot be fixed, it might be a good idea to separate for a while. My parents had to do that and it was very rough. I'd like to say it worked out nicely, but had they taken action sooner, it might have. Hopefully you can nip this in the butt. Best of luck and lots of prayers! ♡♡♡
