Homemade baby food?

My 5 month old is ebf & we haven't tried solids yet but I'm starting to prepare for it. I've recently become really interested in making his baby food but have no idea how! Is it difficult? Is it expensive? I would love to hear just any tips, comments, recipes, how-tos, etc on the whole thing!

Making baby food is easy. Just steam veggies fruit until they are smashable with a fork. Stick in a food processor and add a little water if it becomes thick. Freeze portions in ice cube trays to be stored in Ziploc bags later. When you use them, you can add breastmilk to them to help thin out the consistency until it can cover the back of a spoon and is not clumpy. Needs to be thin at first to avoid choking.

I plan on making my own food also. My plan is to set aside some of the vegetables we are eating for dinner and probably just boiling it and using my blender to get it soft for baby to eat.

My SIL bought the baby bullet for us. We haven't used it yet, but it has a bunch of recipes, some schedule ideas depending on baby's age, & a list of vegetables to be careful of bc of nitrates & things.

It's easy and way cheaper than store bought. Just a little time consuming. I did a ton at once. Steamed veggies, fresh fruit, (I did have to bake the pears and apples), then I stuck it all in a blender with some water and dumped it in ice cube trays, then moved it to labeled freezer ziplock bags. Perfect portions! We only did purees for a month or so though and then went to baby led weaning, and that was even easier. I highly recommend!
