Newborn keeps throwing up and wants more food?

While I was showering my two week old threw up all over his clothes and soaked his sheets and now he keeps throwing up. Is this normal? Also he is acting very hungry should I still try to feed him?

I'd say always offer food to a newborn, especially if baby is rooting or showing other signs of hunger. Also some babies can spit up a lot (or what looks like a lot) and still have no issues..they are "happy spitters" and the spitting up doesn't bother them. But if baby seems uncomfortable, it may be a sign of reflux. Also if it is projectile vomit, it could be pyloric stenosis which is very dangerous for baby! So ask your dr to be sure.

Reflux. My doctor said if it's enough to projectile out of there mouth and soak things around them rather than just dribble down his front then the baby should be evaluated for reflux
