5 weeks old a possibly teething?

Ok so my son has been restless the past couple days and really fussy. He is constantly trying to put his hand in his mouth and whether I give him breast or bottle he seems to be gnawing at the nipple. Is this possible?

It's possible, but unlikely. He could be colicky. Maybe try gas drops, gripe water, swaddling, changing positions, or putting your hand on baby's tummy to see if it relieves symptoms. My daughter will gnaw on her bottle when she's gassy.

6 weeks is a growth spurt. Not likely teething.

Possible (my husband was born with teeth) but usually its later. More likely a behavior like one of the other posters said.

My son does the same thing. He went through a growth spurt- graduated from nb onesies to 0-3mos! I'm still struggling with him putting his hands to his face when nursing. Good luck mama!!
