courthouse marriage??

Looking for opinions... so me & my boyfriend just found out I'm pregnant... he says he's glad I'm the one blessing him with a baby & all that,

He says he wants to marry me.. but getting married costs money... 
would I be wrong to suggest a courthouse wedding? & the reception or whatever later?

I feel like if he can put a baby in me, he should be able to marry me... am I right?

Courthouse weddings are weddings! It doesn't mean your marriage is any less of a marriage than a big, expensive one. It's perfectly fine to get a little dressed up and go to the courthouse and then do a little reception later on down the road. Or maybe a vow renewal even later if you'd like!

Due to major family drama me and my husband got married at the courthouse and then we had our reception 3 months later it was easy, cheap, and low stress!!

The cost of a wedding doesn't determine its validity. If you want to get married, do it!

My only advice if you go courthouse style is to still hire a professional photographer. You'll want those special moments captured!

PS I had a courthouse wedding and I have never regretted it for a second!

My husband and I got the papers notarized and took them to the courthouse. It was important to us regardless of ceremony or not. Our anniversary is tomorrow! 🤗

Why the rush? 
Just because you are having a baby? 
If you have your heart set on a more expensive wedding, take the time to save and plan one. The baby should not influence that.

If you want to get married, get married. It doesn't have to be because of a baby, it doesn't have to cost a lot of money. But making a baby is easy for people and as we know can happen without trying, but marriage is completely different and a choice based on more than obligation.

Honestly, you will probably be happy you didn't spend a ton of money on a big wedding. If you get married in the courthouse, you might decide later to just skip the reception anyway. As long as being married is the most important thing to you (not the party), I say go for it.

And FYI - I had a small destinatin wedding that I thought would save money but it still ended up costing a fortune. It was a blast and I wouldn't change it, but it was still expensive and if we had a baby on the way, we probably would have done something smaller.

People get caught up with the party and forget about the real reason couples get married... I would definitely suggest a courthouse wedding, then in a year or so have your "I do part two"
