Baby shower after first child?

I'm due with baby #2 in September. We had our son in 2015 so he will be 2 in July. We decided not to find out the gender of this baby since it will more than likely be our last. 
Did anyone have another baby shower AFTER their first child? I know a lot of people don't. I would LOVE to have something celebrating this child. We don't need any big items because we were smart and got gender neutral items when we had our son and not that we need help getting clothes, etc. But I think every child needs to be celebrated in some way but no one has mentioned doing anything and I'm already 20 weeks.

I think the reason why people think it is tacky to either throw your own shower or have one after your second is because you should--in theory--already have most of what you need for a baby. So a lot of people see it as if you are just fishing for more free stuff. But I know several women who have done "sprinkles" where they say not to bring a gift, or just a "diaper shower". Most people will being a gift anyway, and it placates the ones who might think it is greedy.

You can do a shower, you can do a sprinkle, you can do a "sip and see" where ppl meet and celebrate the baby. It's up to you.

Will some ppl talk? Sure. It's not relevant though. Loved ones will come out and support you

I think every baby deserves a shower. Ive had one with both of mine. The first shower was bigger with more people and gifts... I guess cause it was my first baby. But I still had an awesome one with my second

I don't think a shower is necessary. Maybe a diaper pounding, that way everyone is still together to celebrate, and all you get is tons of diapers :)

A baby shower is ultimately for the pregnant mom. The baby is in no way involved. If you want to celebrate the baby, maybe have a celebration of life party when it's a few weeks old.

If you want to have another shower, have one. If you want to plan your shower, do it. There's no manual on baby showers, you really can do whatever you want. Who cares what anyone thinks of it.

I didn't with my first and did with each of my last two. Last two were 5 yrs apart.
