Taking my 2 day old to a restaurant

So I was just released from the hospital today and my husband's family is insisting on us going out to eat. Physically, I'm up for it, but I've heard so many mixed opinions on taking my 2 day old out in public. What do you Mom's think about it? What's your opinion?
