Yes it's safe . You've past the limit they would tell you to wait before you have unprotected sex .

If you got it inserted while on you're period you were protected from the beginning. Mine was inserted 3 days after my period and my doctor told me to wait a week. I had unprotected sex with my BF the week my doctor said i was able to. You should be fine since it's been a month.
