Anybody else had their membranes stripped ?

I'm exactly 39 weeks, just had my membranes stripped. Already having mild contracrions. I'm 2cm and 70% effaced with my second baby. I'm praying that she comes soon.. What do you guys think? Has anybody else ever had theirs stripped?

Just had my membranes stripped 2 hours ago. I'm currently 37w 6d.

Dr didn't tell me she was stripping my membranes, only mentioned that she was checking my cervix to see if I have dilated. I was only 2CM. During the process she made a comment, "I wish I had longer fingers." So I kind of had an idea that she was doing something and it hurt/felt uncomfortable for me.

I'm hoping this doesn't work on me because my husband & I really want the baby to say put until 39-40 weeks so that he has enough time for his lungs to fully develop. 😑

I had it done at 39 weeks, and my water broke at 6:30AM the next morning. I had no contractions until almost an hour after my water broke. I plan on having it done again with my second baby.

I had mine stripped and nothing. So the next day I went walking and walking and walking and I lost my mucus plug. Ended up having to be induced at 41 weeks 5 days

I had that done when I was about 41 weeks pregnant, and it did nothing for me but cause a lot of unnecessary pain :( I honestly think it's coincidental that women who have it done go into labor. My midwife didn't even want to do it but I practically begged her since I was so overdue! The procedure itself hurt like crazy and I had lots of painful cramping afterwards.

Anybody else had their membranes stripped ?
