Do you think when you're boyfriend tell you not to wear something does this comes off as controlling or what?

I think if maybe it was like he asked like "could you please not wear that, I think you look great but I don't want other people looking at you" then that was fine but if demands you then I think that's when there's an issue.

My fiancé doesn't like stuff that's low cut & he doesn't like crop tops. So he's asked me not to wear things like that, but he would get ridiculously angry if I did it anyway (I didn't think he'd care, I was going to visit my cousin at her house, not out in public) now he doesn't care what I wear bc he says that if someone thinks I'm attractive from behind, they'll run the other way once they see I'm pregnant 😂😂😂

I think it depends honestly, we've been together 6 years and I don't take it offensively unless I really don't understand it. Im pretty conservative so I don't like showing much. It's give and take, if he respects what bothers me in a relationship I respect what bothers him. That's just how we work 🤷🏻‍♀️

My boyfriend has never commented on what I wear unless he's telling me I look beautiful or I ask his opinion. I don't really wear revealling clothes anyway so I don't suppose he would have a need too tell me not to wear something.

If he did tell me I couldn't wear something (I really don't see this happening) I would respect his opinion but it would definately be my decision in the end. Not letting anyone dictate what I do!

My man told me when we first started dating that I couldn't wear my pajama pants to the store... I use to do it all the time cause they were cute and comfortable lol but I haven't since... he just wanted me to look presentable and not look like I just rolled out of bed...

I guess it may be a little different in marriage. But when my husband doesn't feel comfortable with me in shorts that are too short...I respect that.

Depends on how its meant. Is he saying it because he doesnt like what your wearing because its "too" revealing in his eyes and he doesnt want people to see you it in and does he this often. That is controlling. If  he doesnt make comments like that often it could be hes saying it because what your wearing doesnt look great on you or isn't appropriate for the occasion then that to me is he just looking out for you. My bf tells me when something doesnt flatter my body. I dont find that to be controlling i prefer the honesty before i go out. I dont dress up much im more of a jeans/leggings and tank top kind of girl but when i do wear dresses i always get a a guys opinion before i go out so its either my bf or my dad because my dad likes to dress me up in dresses and hes pretty good fashion wise which i lack in.

He'll ya it is, i wear whatever I want, whether it's mom jeans and an oversized t shirt, or low cut body suit w/ no bra, with a short skirt or tight jeans. My outfits give me confidence and I would never let anyone tell me what not to wear.. I know when a certain outfit is inappropriate and choose what I wear myself. Never let anyone tell you what to do. I don't care if it's your mom, husband, bf, gf, grandma.. if you feel good in it, wear what you want.

Honestly, yes. The way you dress is an expression of yourself and your creativity. People who love you should not want to stifle that about you. I do believe that anytime somebody wants you to appear in a certain way that is to please to them, and not necessarily to please yourself, it's being controlling. I am very lucky that I have a man in my life who completely accepts the way I express myself through my fashion. I dress for me, not my man, and not the rest of the world, so anybody who doesn't like what I'm wearing can kick rocks.
