I used to be a server so I always tip my servers/bartenders 20% because I know that is their only source of income. My paychecks as a server were $0 because I was taxed on my tips. I've recently moved to Canada and servers here make $15/hr. It still feels very awkward for me to tip less than 20% so I don't, but my husband totally disagrees. He tips around 10% because of their base salary and thinks that's more than fair. What would you guys do knowing the server you were tipping was making a high hourly wage??
