labor or not?

I'm having contractions every 3-4 minutes and my back is killing me. I've been having them for a solid 3 hours. No leaking water and no mucus plug that I've seen. I can't tell if this is just false labor again or if I'm actually in labor this time. They are getting closer together and stronger/more painful but so did my false labor contractions, so I'm confused.

I've been having contractions like crazy today myself also. A week ago I had them they were 5-7 mins apart and no more than 8 in an hour. Unpleasant yes BUT definitely not labor. This morning I woke up with horrible back pain. Which led to contractions along with the obvious pelvic pressure. Today's contractions are 3-5 mins apart and been going on for about 3 hours now. Painful much. I tried sleeping. I tried laying on my left side. I tried emptying my bladder and then drinking water.. and I'm still having them. My thing is I'm scared to go to the hospital because of the fact that they might send me back. So I'm going to wait til it gets worse. My due date got pushed up to May 25th so I have like 6weeks left.. I'm trying so hard to wait it out and hold this baby in. Lol

I went in and, again, was sent home because I'm not dilating. Got the same "shit sucks, be miserable" speech from a nurse who very obviously thought I was over reacting. She was very rough when she checked my cervix and almost had me crying, which I realized afterwards was due to her having very long and sharp fingernails. I usually have an "I'm sorry I'm an inconvenience" (with no sarcasm, I'm actually genuinely sorry to be an inconvenience) attitude when I go in, but last night I was irritated and snapping at her and my mom because they kept ganging up and talking like I'm stupid for going in at all. Saying "oh well if you were ACTUALLY in labor, you'd know" and my mom laughed at me when I said I wanted to try for a natural birth. I waited three hours and the contractions only got closer together and more painful, so I did as they told me and went in. I tried everything I could think of to make them fizzle out like normal and they just wouldn't, so I got my hopes up thinking I was finally in labor and going to meet my baby boy. I cried in frustration and anger when I got home because I truly felt like I'd rather have my baby at home than go back in there, but my husband would never agree to a home birth and the size of our baby is looking more and more like I'm going to end up with no choice but a c section. I'm losing the birth I wanted and I'm now miserable at the thought of going back to the hospital when I'm actually in labor because I don't know if I'll know that I'm in labor.

Contractions every 3-4 minutes for 3 hours seems like reason enough to go in. It could end up being false labor, but I'd rather not wait and find out at home that it's real and then not make it to the hospital!

If they have been constantly 3-4 minutes apart for the 3 full hours, or getting closer/stronger, I'd say you're in labor.

Happened to me too. Drink a huge thing of water within an hour and if they still stay consistent then go in and if it starts getting irregular then you know it's false.
