What can I take for a cough and sore throat?

My throats is red and sore. I have a cough and my chest hurts. So I think am in the beginning of getting sick. What can I take??

You can use the throat spray stuff for sore throat I know that, as far as actual cold medicine I'm not sure I didn't use any other medicines besides throat spray during this little cold thing I had and tylenol a couple times.
