4 weeks postpartum question

At 3 weeks I went to get a check up and they had to cut some of the stitches that were hanging out and they want me to come back in a couple days to check again ? My husband and I had sex and now I'm bleeding ? What could this be from ? My husband said he didn't see any stitches left in me so I figured they dissolved ? Help!
