cigarettes while TTC?

Do you think cigarettes really affect your chances of getting pregnant? I've seen multiple women get pregnant and they were smokers. Just wondering if it were clinical proven to make it harder or if it was a myth.

I read that if your ttc you should stop smoking. Which makes sense because if you became pregnant while trying and you didn't know you were than smoking would harm the baby when the early stages are the most important part of their health

Why though? 
Quitting puts your body u der stress so please please quit before getting pregnant. I was a heavy smoker for over a decade and o know how hard it is but it needs to be done.

It's not a contraceptive but neither is heroin!

I smoked while TTC and quit the day I found out I was pregnant. TTC is stressful enough without the added pressure of giving up something you enjoy 😊

I smoked while ttc. It Really helped me get through stressful moments. I don't think it affected how long it took me. My doctor said the baby and I are going through a totally healthy pregnancy so that's also good lol. Plus quitting just puts added stress on the body 😕

Either way, it's good to quit now, to get all nicotine out of your body before your body is making a baby. Can't be a good thing to while ttc. Give you're body a clean fresh start to help it function how it's supposed to! Good luck!

I will be having an artificial insemination and just started preparing for ttc. I quit smoking now so that the stress of quitting would be over before we do the insemination.  I am using the gum and it is working. I was a smoker for ten years.

It does make it harder but doesnt make it impossible...the stress of not smoking and trying to quit can be more harm..im not advocating to smoke but know people who have cut it to an absolute minimum which is recommended by a dr
