So the name I have picked is Evy, pronounced eh-vee not ee-vee. I am not spelling it as Evie because there is only one consonant which is the V, and to make a vowel short there must be two consonants present, which is the v and y in Evy thus making it eh-vee with a short sounding e at the beginning and not a long sounding e. Do you think people will understand the spelling better if I explain this to them if the mis pronounce her name wrong??
