Birth plan?

What are you guys thinking of doing for your deliveries? Natural? Epidural? Home birth? Water birth? Induced vs not induced? C-section? So many options. I am deciding between natural and epidural. I kind of want to go natural but I heard the epidural is really not bad for the baby and the pain is extreme so most medical professionals and my sister-in-law recommend the epidural. Still early in this pregnancy so I have lots of time to think.

My labor was 2 lonnnnggg days and I pushed a 10 pound baby. My plan was all natural but then as day 2 rolled around I decided that I needed the rest since I wanted to kill everyone who came around and wanted to sleep for at least a few minutes, so with that I asked for the epidural and I don't regret one bit. 
I'd like to do natural one day if I don't have another 10 pound baby or 2 day labor.

For me, no cutting (c-section or episiotomy) for any reason unless there is a greater than 40%chance of fatality for myself or the baby.
No pain medication unless I specifically ask for it, and if/when I do it'll be the epidural.
Play my own music. (Very important for me, as it helps with meditative pain management)
Husband cuts the cord AFTER it's stopped pulsing.
Immediate skin to skin contact.
No pacifiers or sugar water, as I'll be breastfeeding.
Those are the basic points from my last birthplan. It goes into more detail with contingencies, and is like 2-3 pages long. But that's because I've had bad experiences with not being listened to with regards to my body and treatment before, so I have to cover my ass that way. There are tons of places online that can help outline a plan and give you an easy to print out template. Add and delete sections as needed. All the best in your baby journey!

Not sure how far you are but you really should wait to see the size of the baby etc. I'm having a repeat c section and have found that the best birth plan is not to have one. Just take everything as it comes

Had an epidural with my first (now almost 21 months) she's fine & did fine. Nursing & everything went well. I have had bad back problems since though. Planning on going natural this time, which was also the plan with my first. I'm 32 weeks 1 day & terrified, lol.

Forgot to mention. 
Nurses and doctors do like birth plans. They like it if you keep it to 1 page otherwise they will not read your plan. Make it simple. 
The format that works amazing for my clients is:
Names of mother and those attending with her, name of her doctor, official due date. 
2 primary wishes (these are the two most important things to you that you want everyone to read.
Then in boxes place it in step by step:
1 box is your early labor wishes
2 box is active labor wishes
3 box is transition labor wishes
4 box is pushing wishes
5 box is after delivery wishes (such as do you want apgars done to baby on you or do you want baby taken over to the warmer for the tests?.. If you don't say they will do the warmer tests. Do you want to keep the placenta? Feeding method. Stuff like that) 
Also include at what point you will accept visitors and specify whether you want to be asked if they can come visit on a name by name basis.

I had my daughter in a hospital with doctors and nurses present. I cannot imagine wanting a home birth. There are too many things that could go wrong. A hospital setting to me is the logical and intelligent decision. I stayed at home as long as possible though. I was only at the hospital for 3 hours when she was born. I was very fortunate that I was able to do without an epidural. Yes, it's painful, but getting an epidural dulls the senses and typically makes your labor progress slow down. I did have to have an episiotomy since I was starting to tear. I don't think that is something you necessarily have much control over. My doctor used a topical numbing cream so that I couldn't feel the cut- that was a blessing. There is no right or wrong answer for what someone should do for labor and delivery. You have to do what works for you. And remember, just because you plan things out a certain way, doesn't mean that baby has the same plan in mind!
