Marriage can be hard. Parenthood can be hard. Navigating the waters of becoming parents and learning to divvy up responsibilities as your children grow older is harder still. I understand that all couples fight, but to stay in a marriage where you aren't happy isn't helping anyone. Children are so keen to their parents emotions and moods. If you aren't happy with your SO, that will bleed through to your everyday life with your child. It's best to show your child or children that change is okay and should be welcomed. That they shouldn't settle for less than they deserve. In the long run, all parties will heal and be happier for it.

I grew up watching my parents argue and even when they didn't, the vibe was just off between them. I became much happier when they separated and they both seemed happier and I didn't have to deal with the arguing.

Side note- if you decide to stay together for your kids, never tell them that. Don't place that burden on them

Never.  Hold ten pick up on the smallest things and their parents are how they understand to be in a relationship. Being unhappy in a relationship is teaching them that it's ok to be unhappy in one also.

Happiness is based on circumstances. Feelings change randomly. So, if I went by happiness I'd be single permanently. Now, if their is emotion, physical, mental abuse or cheating, then no I wouldn't stay. I'd pray, give the person I love a chance to change and then go from there.
