Is it wrong to hit on or get hit on in a church?

Ok so I don't go to church often, but my family does and they always joke around about me going to bible study so I can pick up a "Good guy".. I'll joke around and see a pastors son on tv and be like Dzamn I'll definitely go to his church 😂 (totally lustful) and my sisters will laugh and jokingly call me a sinner. It's all really just comedy my family's kinda like that. A few days back I commented on a video of these dads b4 and after they shaved their beard and how the babies would cry because they didn't recognize them, anyway my comment was a comment on another user saying this specific dad (who was singing a Christian nursery rhymes type song) ended up being SUPER HOT after shaving his beard and shocked quite a few people.  Jokingly I commented "what church does he go to?😂😂😂 lmfao" appearently someone didn't think it was appropriate to "pick up someone" at a church..

Which made me think of these questions, is it wrong to to "pick up" someone at church? Wouldn't you want someone with similar interest? like that saying "you don't meet your wife/husband at a strip club".

All my sisters met their husbands at church.. so I'm assuming it's not wrong to hit on someone at church

SIDE NOTE: I'm already in a relationship, so I'm not looking nor would I go to church just to get a bf I'm not an idiot,its just an ongoing joke I use to say a "Christian man" is attractive to me. Also by "hit on" I mean "asking out" .. I may have worded that incorrectly 😬😬

I wouldn't hit on someone at church, maybe complement them or ask them to grab a coffee or something. But not "wow, your bit looks great in those pants". Type of thing.  Just "you look nice today." "I look forward to seeing you next week" type of things.

Church is for developing and nurturing your relationship with Jesus. If you make friends at church and decide to date that's fine. But you definitely shouldn't be going just to find a date. I met my husband through our church family as did others I know so it's not uncommon. But we had already been attending the same church for several years before met.

I think if the both of you are single, and are both talking to one another, I don't exactly see the harm in a little subtle flirtation. There's all kinds of ways you can flirt with someone, a gentle brush on the arm, making eye contact, laughing at his or her jokes, winking, a hug or a handshake. Maybe just a smile. It doesn't have to be something just completely out of line like making a bunch of corny sexual enduendos. You can let him know you're interested in a mature manner while still respecting the house of the Lord.

I don't see a problem with it. BUT. Don't start going to church for that reason. That's not ok. I have seen lots of relationships start at church. But between people that always went and knew each other from there.

There's a time and place, and church isn't either. I know a guy who exclusively dated girls from the college Sunday school class and I'm convinced he chooses his next girlfriend from the roster. Creep.

It's not the time during church service but while everyone is talking before and after service or at church functions I'd say why not
