When can the doctor tell you what position the baby is in?

I am 30 weeks and the doctor has yet to tell me.

I know babies move around a lot, but when did your doctor tell you?

My midwife has been able to feel the baby's position manually since about 19 weeks

You can tell if they are head down, pay close attention to where you feel hiccups.  If they are low then head is down. Kicks too, if they are above belly button level, head is also down. Theres a handful of ways to tell,  google it.

Doctor told me today! Baby's head is down, I'm 32 weeks.

My midwife tells me at every visit. She palpates my abdomen at every visit. Baby girl has stayed head down at every visit.

The OB's I worked for as an Ultrasound Tech used to say,

"There's no point in worrying about baby's position until about 37 weeks, b/c they have plenty of room to turn up until that point."

(unless of course you have IUGR[intrauterine growth restrictions] or low amniotic fluid).
 I still ask at every visit though- lol.

That said, I've watched a version before. It didn't look fun, but I'd try anything to see if I could keep my LO head down for birth!

It doesn't matter much until the baby is too big to be able to turn it's self.

My babe is trying to come early, so I've had my cervix checked many times this month. Each time he's been head down...That's been since March 31st, and I was 30+5. Now I'm 33+2 and he's still head down. My doctor can touch his head when she checks my cervix!! I'm on bedrest.

My doc said at 36 weeks he will tell me what position baby is in

I've had to be checked twice a week since 28 weeks.... every time they check she is in a different position. As of today (30w 5d) she is head down.
