Does depo shot slow down your metabolism?

I just got my first shot maybe a week ago and now I'm afraid that it'll slow down my metabolism. I've been reading about people who have gained weight on the depo shot and I don't know if it's because of the increase in their appetite or a slower metabolism. I'm only 18 and I eat healthy meals. I really don't want to gain any weight. Please help me!

I should also mention that I was coming out of a really unhealthy weight spiral when I started the shot so the medicine might have had very little to do with that. I weighed like 117 when I got out of college (which is not enough for my frame) and was at like 125 when I started the shot. The highest I went was 140 but this was also near the winter so over time I went back to 135ish and that's about where I am now at 25.

For me it feels like I am hungry ALL THE TIME. Oh my goodness. That's where I think the wait gain come from. Just more intake or at least for me.

My doctor told me that the weight gain comes from an increased appetite so being aware of that and exercise would help. I did gain some weight but nothing too drastic and it went back down once I was on the shot for a while. Like 15 pounds tops and I lost 5 or so over time?
