Anyone else late but BFN's?

Hi all is anyone else late (af due 16/4) but having BFN's? I'm confused as this hasn't happened before and I am ttc..when is best to re-test? Or wait to re-test? My doctor said to wait for 2 weeks which is an age! Has anyone has a BFP after a similar sitauatikn? #hopeful
