From personal experience, start the day after your last bleeding because you may ovulate earlier than average. I did (and had no idea without OPKs) and got pregnant the same month.

I usually just read the information leaflet that comes with my opk's. It will tell you when to start testing then you can decide for yourself if u need to test earlier or later.
