Longer period?

I got Mirena last week Tuesday. That was also the first day of my period. My periods normally last 5-7 days, so I should be done bleeding by now, but it hasn't stopped. Since I got it put in on my period, will it make my period go longer?

My period was longer when I first got it & I had spotting for about 6 weeks or so. Now I don't even have a period. I've had my Mirena for about a year & a half & I absolutely love it. That being said, my best friend had it & hated it & had it removed. It affects everyone differently, but your bleeding at this point is perfectly normal & should be expected.

I just got my IUD as well... period is going on 3 weeks now. I've read a couple reviews of ladies having a really bad first period then it goes away entirely (here's hoping!!)
