Sleeping on your back while pregnant?

Why are you not supposed to sleep on your back?

It can restrict blood flow to baby by compressing the major blood vessel the vena cava

I only sit up I never lay on my back I get way to much pressure and it hurts

My doc said it has to do with pressure on your spine and your placenta getting blood flow. She said just rotate to one hip or the other and you'll be fine.

You can sleep however you're comfortable, sleeping on your back will probably not be comfortable after a certain point because of the reasons listed

Your baby is in front when you lay on your back the pressure can hurt your back and make it hard to breathe

Sleep however you want to until it becomes uncomfortable or painful with my son i had to sleep on my stomach or else he was not a happy camper my daughter it was my right side with a gel memory foam pillow in between my legs and one to prop up on my side
