Way to Start Off a Pregnancy

Casey
Sooo. About an hour and a half ago I was walking out to my car to grab my water cup (yeti ripoff). This involves going down THREE stairs, just three little steps. I was bouncing down them, because that's what I do, and I missed the last one. Sending me immediately on to the concrete driveway where I landed on my right foot and twisted my ankle "POP!" and fell on to my left ankle, scraping it to hell. I rolled over to sit up and stand, I can usually brush injuries off, especially something like that. But nope, as soon as I went to put weight on my foot I had a very severe pain. I started screaming because it hurt and I didn't have anyway to contact someone, my phone was inside. This is when my little hero comes in, I yelled for my daughter (5 yo) and asked her to bring me my phone. And then my neighbor came out to see why some lady was screaming outside and he asked if I was okay and was just the nicest person ever and I feel awful for scaring him like that. My daughter comes out with my phone while I'm sitting on the driveway having a panic attack. I call my SO and tell him he needs to come home immediately, he had just left to help a friend with his fence so he was less than a minute away. My big hero comes home and picks me up and carries me into our house and sets me on the recliner part of our couch and starts asking me what happened, examining my ankle. He gets me all cozy on our couch, TV remotes, ice for my ankle, neosporin for my knee, my cup (that I didn't get to) with water, a big comfy blanket. Asks me if I want food and tries to get me some ice cream, but I said no because I was still freaking out and wasn't hungry. After getting me settled in he takes off to help his friend again, which I said was fine because he's getting paid for it and we need the money, I can take care of myself. I wasn't going to go to the ER because I didn't think it was that bad (no swelling or bruising) and I don't think baby is in trouble because I didn't hit anything other than my knee, ankle, and hands. Now I'm regretting it because I just tried to walk and could only barely walk on it and it has to be positioned very specifically, I can't walk heel to toe like normal. After walking on it for a minute it feels worse than it did when it happened. 😞 Looks like I'll be going to the ER when he gets back to get a brace and crutches and probably an ultrasound to check on baby. This is my first serious injury since I was around 5 or 6 (took a trike off a curb, had to check for concussion). Hopefully everything with baby will be alright and I won't have to be on crutches for long. 😒
