It shouldn't be. The common misconception is that you "break your hymen". Total myth. The hymen is able to stretch, and if you're properly lubricated, sex shouldn't hurt. That's why foreplay is VERY important! Especially for women. Anything from kissing, to whispering in your ear, to oral sex!!

Depends. For me it was too painful at first, but then just uncomfortable for a few times. (Note that I have vaginismus so that contributed). But I would say use lube and only do it when you're really turned on! Also work up to it with fingering
