What age is too young

Question

To you what age seems like an okay age to start planning for a baby? What is too young?

As long as you're out of school, can support yourself and a child and in a stable relationship with stable living conditions any time.

Under 18 is too young. Also if you don't live on your own, aren't financially stable, don't have a stable relationship.

It isn't age..it is maturity, financial stability, emotional stability, etc.  I was 21 when I got pregnant with my son (we planned it) had him at barely 22, and my now husband was 25.  We'd both been living on our own since 18, both had two full time jobs, and I finished my
masters degree a month and a half before our son was born, which is obviously unique for that age.  For other 21 year olds, some are still partying, still in college or do not have stable jobs, etc.  It just really depends on your situation, but if you are living independently and paying your own bills, go for it.

I don't think it's an age thing as much as it is a mutuality, independence, stability thing. For example, I think that if you're going to PLAN to have a child you should have financial stability, as well as be independent (like not living with your parents) and you should also be ready for the responsibility. My husband and I were financially stable and ready in basically every way however I didn't even realize how HUGE of a responsibility it is. I'm a stay at home mom and I consider that my full time job because I'm constantly working- cooking, cleaning, making sure my family is taken care of and even when I'm relaxing I'm still responsible for making sure my toddler is being watched and not getting into trouble lol. You have to be mature enough to handle caring for another life. Oh, to add I am 22 and my daughter was born when I was 20. We started trying to get pregnant when I was 19 and my husband was 22.
