When to go on maternity leave at an active job?

I work as a developmental therapist for kids with special needs. I am up and moving most of the day or sitting on the floor a lot. I am currently 34w and finding it harder and harder to make it through the day. Any day care teachers, teachers, or others with active jobs who can give insight into when to take leave? When did it get too hard for you? Did you wait too long, or go to soon?

Here in Canada you usually work until 35-36 weeks but I made an agreement with my boss and I'll leave at 30 weeks than I'll have a whole year paid at 70% of my salary

I am a teacher and will work until I deliver. Any day I take before baby is one I will not get paid for after.

Elementary school counselor and behavior intervention specialist. I worked until my due date but wished more than anything that I didn't have to. For me it was financial, I just couldn't afford to take my leave any earlier. Luckily my son was born at 40+5 so I still had about a week to rest and relax

With my first two I took 1 week off before my due date. However with baby #2 I ended up a week late. With her I only got 8 weeks off work and I just spent 2 of them pregnant. So with my 3rd baby I worked until I went into labor 😊.

I think each pregnancy is different. I teach preschool and with my boys I was running around with them until I literally have birth but with my girl I was done a month before my due date. I could hardly move with her.
