Shea Moisture Pulls Ad Due To Backlash
This post is more for my curly/natural girls. I don't think anyone else uses Shea Moisture products. Anyway, Shea Moisture recently pulled an ad of theirs due to some backlash from the natural hair community saying the ad is promoting straight , non kinky hair types. I watched the ad myself and I can see where they're coming from, but the ad isn't bad at all. They're not blatantly saying straight hair is prettier. The ad starts with a black girl with very curly 3C hair, talking about how much she hated her hair and how the other kids would put things into her (paper, gum) and she'd see it when she got home then it switches to some white women with straight hair who are talking about how "hard" their hair is to deal with and how the redhead dyed her hair platinum blonde to fit in. What do you think? Should the ad be released again or should they go ahead and pull it?
