is all hope lost? (missed miscarriage)

Question

I was told this week that I likely had a blighted ovum. My HCG levels went from 5200 to 5800 (might have been 52,000 to 58,000 honestly don't remember) so they didn't double but they did go up over 48 hours.

The ultrasound showed a sac but not embryo and we though I was 8w3d but looking by OD instead of LMP I was about 6w exactly. I am going in for another ultrasound tomorrow to confirm. I still have morning sickness, sore breasts, etc and no bleeding or cramping at all. Does it seem like there's any chance they're wrong or is it likely the pregnancy is going to end? Has anyone had comeback from numbers like that?

Just had an ultrasound about an hour ago with pretty much these same results. Gestational sac measured 6 weeks 6 days, I should have been 7 weeks 6 days and there was only a yolk sac, no fetal pole, no heartbeat.

Just don't google shit I did when the same thing happen to me I wasn't for any options they gave me like the pills I just wanted it to come naturally but never did so I went ahead and take the pill I cramped not to bad were I couldn't handle it I went through my first pad with little cloths my second pad was soaked and I big clots came out when I peed knew what that was ☹️ third pad was bad but still passing everything fourth pad blood subsided I say just take it easy and cry it out and don't blame yourself maybe it wasn't the right time

Same thing happened to me and it sadly ended in MC. I was given cytotec to help move things along, I would have been 8 weeks. I'm sorry you're going through this, I wouldn't wish it on anyone 😔💜

Just as an update to everyone, I did end up having a D & C on May 1st. We had genetic testing done and found out the baby we had lost was a boy. We named him Evan. I told my husband I wanted to know what to call him when I meet our son in heaven someday. The miscarriage happened because he had extra genetic material on chromosome 1 which they hope is just a one time fluke that will not happen when we try again. Thank you all for your support and insight. I'm sorry that so many of you also have gone through this terrible process.

I'm wishing you the best, but the story sounds so familiar. At 6w, 3D, I had an ultrasound that showed only a gest sac. I had another ultrasound at 7 weeks which showed a just stational sack and maybe your sack, but no fetal pole. At 8 weeks, no progress. Its been the worst time of my life. I had a D&C at exactly 8w, 1d (5/3/17) and am recovering now.

Same ultrasound results for me, levels were 68000, I should have been 9 weeks but I measured 6 1/2. Miscarried. But i had had bleeding off and on prior to the ultrasound.

Same thing happened to me. My levels were about 17k when I had my first appointment, I had all of the symptoms and found out we had an empty sac. My levels kept increasing although a follow up ultrasound showed no change. I used the cytotec to end the pregnancy just shy of 9 weeks. I couldn't emotionally handle waiting for it to happen on its own since I had no signs of it coming.
