nuchal Down syndrome normal !??

Beautyobssesed
I am 13 weeks pregnant and had test done on my baby vía ultrasound to check if everything is normal like Down syndrome and other big test they run to see if everything is going fine. My baby's nuchal scan measured at 2.2 mm and the doctor said I was at risk on having a Down syndrome baby just wanted to know if any of you have had similar results and if this number is normal please any comment helps thanks

Yes I was told the same. You should have a phone number to ring in your maternity notes of you have questions.

I was told 3 and under is normal. Ours was 3.1 and they told us we were high risk. Had the blood test done and everything was normal. My niece had a 2.3 but they never said anything because it's normal. You are fine 😊

Don't get an amnio or cvs either. The risks associated aren't worth such a low NT

Mine was 2.7mm at 13 weeks exactly, after the blood test came back doc said I was low risk for downs. I'm not sure why they're saying you're at risk.

My NT was 2.6 and it's a boy 😁

Wow! That is so cool. We actually did an early gender ultrasound and it's 90% sure it's a boy! Our daughter's NT was only a 2.1!

Do you know the gender staci? I read a clinical trial somewhere that babies with higher NTs (in the high 2s to 3.5) are usually males. It was true for us so now anytime I see someone with anything above 2.5 I ask 😂

Did you also have a blood test for it?

3cm and below is normal. Not sure why they told you that's at risk. Mine was 2.6cm at 12 weeks 5 days and they said that's normal. I also got back my blood but it said 1 in 58 chance of downs so now I have to do additional testing. I did hear the first trimester screening has a lot of false positives so don't worry about that either.

That seems very low to be at risk. Normal is 2.5 and under. Also, that is just a soft indicator-- there's a very good chance that it isn't a sign of Downs. Did they also do a blood test?

The blood test is much more reliable! Hang in there- everything will be fine!
