When should I start freaking out?

My little guy is 4 weeks old & up until now he would poop after each feeding. He hasn't pooped in over 24 hours and I'm starting to become worried. He's passing a lot of gas though. Could it be something I'm eating? I had coldstone yesterday...maybe that's it?

Our pediatrician warned us at our one month visit not to freak out if our baby only pooped every few days, that it was totally normal. You can always call your pediatrician if you need reassurance.

As long as baby is eating and acting normal there's nothing to worry about. This is about the point that they stop pooing so much. At about 4 weeks my baby switched to going every other day to 3 days. As for gas just help baby move their legs by doing "bicycles" and/or laying baby tummy down across your lap (the pressure can help relieve the gas). If those don't work then look into gas drops. Some babies are just gassy and sometimes we do eat something that gives them gas like broccoli and beans. At this point I wouldn't cut anything out of your diet. However if you are still concerned give your doctor a call and get some reassurance from them 🙂.

Yes, around 4 weeks their pattern start changing. I took him to the doctor and he said I don't have to worry unless he goes 3+ days without.

Mine did the same thing around 5 weeks he used to poop once a day and now he goes about every other day sometimes every  3 days

Babies can go up to a week without pooping. All is fine. If baby starts acting like they are in pain then do bicycle kicks. Best of luck!
